4th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2012 (Fireworks)

15th - 18th March 2012, there's a hot air balloon exhibition at Precinct 2, Putrajaya from 7am to 9pm. Didn't catch the hot air balloon exhibition but went for their fireworks at night, which was on a Saturday. We decided to drop by since I missed it last year, because I took a wrong turn and end up not going, so have high hopes to see what was installed this year but ... it wasn't as what I had thought of...

Assuming the fireworks will actually last for 10 to 20 minutes but it last for about 5 minutes only.. so much for it's waiting time when it stated 9pm they will begin but only by 9.30pm the fireworks were up.. And the funny part was when everyone thought the fireworks will be right above the hot air balloons but it was at the other side..

Managed to snap a few shots..

The whole journey from KL Sentral to Ipoh only took 1hr 58min.
Had our morning breakfast in the train. Milo & Coffee & Buns :D
Reached the station at 9.59a.m. The journey doesn't seem long as I thought it would be.
Landed at Ipoh Station.

All the think I could think is FOOD, FOOD and FOOD >:D
But before we had our meal, we tour around Ipoh.
Ipoh Heritage Walk, where it all starts at the Railway Station.
Station
The railway station was completed in 1917 and as designed by A.B Hubback, a British architect. Next to the station is the Majestic Station Hotel aka Taj Mahal of Ipoh.

A magnificent view.
And it was rather hot that day.

Buildings
And next stop Dewan Bandaran Ipoh.
This building was built during First World War by Mr. Hubback.
Not far from the Dewan Bandaran Ipoh is the Birch Memorial Clock Tower & a  mosque.

Buildings3
When I went the Birch Memorial Clock Tower area was under renovation.
That explains the bricks around that area.

Buildings4
Jalan - Jalan around Ipoh.
Wander around the lorong of Ipoh.
Thank to Daniel, we managed to find the areas and FOOD :D

Buildings2

Graffiti on the walls of Ipoh.

Buildings5
The F.M.S Bar & Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurant in Malaysia. It began its operation in 1923. During my visit it was closed and undergo some major renovation.
Before continuing our journey around Ipoh, we grabbed our light lunch.

Food
Thean Chun Restaurant. Had our Pork Satay (non-halal) :D

Food2
Some fried chicken & egg pudding.
Done with light lunch and journey continues..

Buildings6
Passing by St. Michael's Institution.

Buildings7
And Dato' Panglima Kinta Mosque which was built in 1898. And a chinese school nearby that area.

Buildings8
Till we reached Muzium Darul Ridzuan. The exhibition on that day was about Burials & Funerals of different ethnic in Malaysia. There were other exhibitions as well Sejarah Perlombongan Bijih Timah, Sejarah Bandaraya Ipoh, Perhutanan dan Alam Semulajadi Negeri Perak and Pameran Di Luar Bangunan.

Places
We then head back to our next destination, where we met up with Sky for our lunch. Along the way there some candid shots around Ipoh town.

Places2
Let's not forget about the hot weather and we walked around town without an umbrella XD! Free tanning :O

Food3
Lunch was at Lou Wong. Famous for their Ipoh Chicken Rice.

Food4
After lunch, thought we can check-in to our hotel, French Hotel. But our room wasn't ready yet so went off to Kinta City Shopping Centre & loads of people.. Especially Popular.. Very crowded I guessed everyone wanna use their voucher before 31st March 2012.

It was a hot day and we had it cool down by having Tutti Frutti :D
With gummy bears!
After walking around the shopping centre, we went to a coffee shop to have our Ipoh White Coffee.

DSC_0176
Another icy drink on a hot day :D
Thanks to Sky for bringing us around Ipoh that day and we checked in our hotel and rest awhile before our next visit The Lost World of Tambun for the hot spring.

Food5
A quick grab at the nearby mamak.
On a note: Taxi Drivers in Ipoh are very friendly. Can just talk to them like friends haha :O !!

DSC_0196
Avast we reached! The Lost World of Tambun.

DSC_0198
The street light along the corridor. Beautiful.

DSC_0205
And we've got our own tag. Thought of keeping it but there's a RM10 deposit fee. shucks!

DSC_0216
The hot spring?! Anyone?

DSC_0208
Quite a handful of people around. From kids to adults.
A place of relaxation.
After a day walking around Ipoh.

DSC_0256
The next day was Thaipusam. So there was a small procession from the night till the next day morning.

DSC_0264
Doesn't it look painful :O

DSC_0258
The procession last all night..
Couldn't get enough sleep as it was quite loud outside.
Because the next day was Thaipusam.

Overall: It was a tiring, exciting, filling (with food), relaxation day.
Not to mention..
Sunburn at the neck area :O

Next up.. Day 2?!
